Adherium delivers first Hailie Smartinhaler sensors order

by Earn Media

Digital health technology company Adherium (ASX:ADR) has delivered the first order of its Hailie Smartinhaler sensors to a ‘major’ US hospital system, Intermountain Health.

The Hailie Smartinhaler solution is a cloud-based platform that captures medication use data from Food Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared Bluetooth-enabled sensors that wrap around patient inhalers.

The product provides real-time feedback to patients via the Hailie app and to their physicians via the Hailie portal.

Adherium, which has a market capitalisation of $10.67 million, says this sale reflects its commercialisation focus on strategic partnerships with ‘large-scale’ US healthcare providers and insurers.

Chief Executive Officer Rick Legleiter says the company is ‘delighted’ with this ‘significant’ purchase from Intermountain Health, as it further expands Adherium’s footprint and establishes a new strategic partner in the US market.

“It’s pleasing to see the growing recognition and trust in the value of Adherium’s respiratory health technology.”

Intermountain includes 33 hospitals and 385 clinics, with more than 12,000 associate physicians and nearly 60,000 employees.

The Salt Lake City-based health system works in outpatient respiratory care with around 300,000 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma patients.

Adherium says the advanced features of the ‘next-generation’ Hailie sensors include inhalation flow rate, inspiratory flow duration, inhaled volume, and other metrics that show valuable information about patients’ prescribed medication reaching their lungs.

Adherium is focused on providing solutions for improving patient treatment with remote monitoring and data solutions.
